A wonderful way to stop after a long hike to have a snack or dinner. Always quite full, but usually a free space is found, but if you come with a larger group (4+) you should reserve a sufficient period of time. You definitely can't complain about the desserts (I didn't screw anything else). I would recommend the restaurant to anyone staying nearby.

Excelentes locally with friendly service and fabulous food. Unfortunately there is a waitress who does not adhere to the Corona measures and even hugs guests

Simply wonderful, in a word! Beautiful and spacious, excellent food and drink, no waiting for anything... And the staff made us feel welcome too. I would recommend this place for everyone!

The ambience is very pleasant. The staff is well chosen as far as I think. Unfortunately, the waitress reacted a bit snuggly ... to a slight criticism of the fried potatoes, which were definitely too greasy. Operator comment: "It's a matter of taste". The fried potatoes were definitely dripping with fat. But otherwise definitely worth a visit.

Incredibly tasty, the price-performance ratio is great! The staff is very friendly, the ambience is incredibly quaint, really absolutely cozy, just the thing after a hike in the beautiful surroundings! Until next time

Bavarian flair in the Harz Mountains, great! Huge parking lot right in front of the door. Two e-charging stations available, with no additional parking fee.

We have been guests very often so far, unfortunately today not only the quantity but also the quality was poor. The Kaiserschmarrn was also available as a children's portion upon request. It would be like that. Lukewarm to cold and the taste far removed from familiar food, it came back "touched up", even just superficially warm. Disappointing!

Wonderful atmosphere, beautifully decorated. Super friendly staff and the food is great. We spent the evening without our child and were able to relax here super! We always like to come back.

I wanted to reserve by phone what cost me 15 calls, because nobody answers the phone. And if I'm being honest, I don't really get the hype. The food wasn't really great, I thought it was rather average. Service was good ... nice and friendly. I won't be back because I don't like Bavarian cuisine.

We felt very comfortable here and especially ate very tasty. Schnitzel, salad, children's plates - everything was more than delicious. We'll be back someday ;-)

You feel right at home here. Extremely cozy atmosphere. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food is really good at reasonable prices. We will stop here more often. It is advisable to make a reservation, but spontaneous travelers also have a chance here.

It was pretty good. Top marks for staff friendliness, they were great! The food was ok, some things seemed to be old, butter tasted rancid. But in general it was good. An escape from the everyday... This is now the only restaurant in torfhaus since the other one burned down.....

Service friendly and brisk, well structured. The food was mostly good, occasionally no enthusiasm arose. Schnitzel is recommended in all variations. Nice location a bit noisy. Reservation should be made otherwise there may be a waiting time.

Good place but it was packed.

Uncomplicated table reserved online, the peat house is reminiscent of an alpine pasture outside and inside, the atmosphere is great and the service is impeccable. We ate very well and will be back on our next vacation

The view of the Brocken alone is worth the stop. The attentive service is striking. The food was tasty and very appetizing. The hygiene regulations were implemented excellently with the large number of guests.

Very nice restaurant with very friendly staff. The food tastes great and the prices are reasonable. The view is wonderful, you have a great view of the Brocken. The only drawback is the parking lot at 2 euros an hour, but it doesn't belong to the restaurant.

We went to dinner spontaneously after a motorcycle tour. Even if there was only space outside, we enjoyed our stay very much. If you can't find anything on the map, it's your own fault. I would have loved to order everything ❤. Very cozy atmosphere, delicious menus, friendly service 👌 we felt very comfortable and will definitely make reservations in advance for the next Harz trip and come back ☝️

Very cozy restaurant. If you come from a rainy hike, you can really warm up here. There is also a fire. We were here for a snack for lunch. The vegetarian pancakes and goulash soup are recommended. The staff was also very nice and quick.

Very busy place and because of that it can be difficult to find a seat. The staff are also incredibly busy. Besides that everything was pretty average.

Standard German pub food given a fresh approach that both looks good and tastes wonderful. The place doesn't look special from the outside but has a warm and welcoming ambience inside. Great service too. A little more pricey than other places that serve similar fair, but its worth the money.

Good food and service. Perfect for a lunch on hiking or biking day.

Compulsory visit every year

Nice staff, if a little understaffed. Not sure why we need a Bavarian place in the Harz, but if you roll with it, there’s a great view to behold from the balcony and food is totally fine, not overpriced either.
